    Re: Altec Crossover ReCap Help!

Thank you Derry, I wasn't sure if that was an affective way or not. I started doing just that and I would run into harder areas that had wires running through it. Also, the attenuator doesn't have very much length in the wire, so it is very close to what I am scrapeing. This was the concern I had, Especially, not knowing what I am doing. I mean, I know how to solder and replace caps, just not an expert in the field.

Thank you again for letting me know how you were able to get the tar/wax out.
and thank you for your cap suggestion.

    Re: Altec Crossover ReCap Help!

Hello to all,my first post. My 605A duplex speakers with a N-1600-C dividing network has seen a lot of action over the past 50 years and have returned home with the potentiometer shaft sheared off and disconnected by some unknown expert. Needless to say the sound is poor.

I wish to repair or rebuild and require guidance, good advice and a schematic diagram.
    thanks
